Light remains a rare constant in this time of enormous grief and upheaval, diligently framing our world as we struggle to rebuild and reform. But light can also carry a potency of its own. The work of Brenda Cirioni, Linda DeStefano Brown, Catherine Gibbs, Patty deGrandpre, and Marcia Wise articulates the chaos and emotion of our new reality, reflecting the “summer connotations” Jay Wright so beautifully illustrates in the poem above.

Sasha Carnes is an undergraduate student from the greater Boston area. Her tenacious love for art and urbanism pushed her away from plans to pursue STEM, and she has dedicated herself to absorbing as much art as she can ever since. Sasha has loved supporting local artists through her work as a summer intern at Fountain Street, and hopes to continue doing so throughout her future endeavors.
