Tatiana Flis’ “Folded Valley” is an 8 x 10 inch graphite and gouache drawing on thick rag paper with a deckled edge. The work is float mounted and framed in a simple black frame, and is signed in the lower right corner. The framed dimensions of the piece are 10 x 12 x 1 inches. Opaque colors of oranges, yellows and reds extend from the grey graphite branches holding up a house with four small windows and no door. A monumental arch sits on the scallop shingled roof.

Tatiana Flis is a mixed-media artist working primarily in sculpture and drawing. In using a surrealist language, she creates subtle forms and images that explore relationships between the human psyche and moments of chaos, solitude, tension, excess and absence. Her work has been shown extensively and is in many private collections.
