“I have known about Fountain St Gallery since before its move to Boston and have always been attracted to its artist community and contemporary vision. I feel lucky at this point in my career to be associated with such a diverse and inspiring group of artists led by such remarkable people.
My work is driven by a visceral response to nature and experience through the language of paint. I am moved by the gesture of a brushwork, color intensity and subtlety, the process of layering, scraping, revealing and renewing the image. I am an avid gardener and the view of the garden from my studio provides a constantly changing palette of abstract form and color.
Having grown up with painters, art making has been a part of my daily ritual for a long time. I took an early interest and pursued a degree. I am happy to be able to dedicate even more time to it now having recently retired from a career teaching high school art.”
