I first heard about Fountain Street from the wonderful people and artists of Framingham and The Mill Contemporary Art Studios - like Sorin Bica, Mia Cross, and Lisa Breslow Thompson.

I was born and grew up in Denmark where my passion for art was established early working alongside my artist father. As a child I drew, printed, sculpted, and painted and developed a deep and lasting passion for art. However, I was also an avid soccer player who played on city club teams, regional teams, youth national teams, and as a semi-professional till the age of 25 (while attending university). In my late teens I fell in love with science which led to a master’s degree in physics and astronomy from University of Copenhagen in 1999, a PhD in astrophysics from University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2005, followed by a 14-year research career at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Through it all, and despite the demands on my time from soccer, science, and family, I managed to stay artistically productive and keep alive my passion for visual art.

In the spring of 2019 I decided to begin a third chapter in my life and become a full-time artist. Since then I been fortunate to have been in juried exhibitions, been commissioned, and sold my artwork to raise money for Boston Medical Center, the Boston Health Care for Homeless Program, the Danish Crown Prince Frederik’s educational foundation, and to promote the Danish participation in the 2019 Head of the Charles Regatta. My exciting first year as a full-time artist was crowned by the selection as a 2020 annex member of the Fountain Street gallery, and I can’t wait to become an active member of this community.
