“Forest” by Gil Zablodovsky

Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?

“The forest is a place where you can get away from the burden of life. The mandala is a shape as humans we create to find a shelter for our body and minds. Together I created this video to understand the place where we can get away to find an inner peace.”

Tell us about yourself. How did you come to be an artist in video/digital media?

'You don't need eyes to see, You need vision' (Faithless)

Since 2011, I have been working on multidisciplinary projects which the main medium is the video and moving image who are being created in a several ways.

My projects are a site-specic or time & image based. i mostly work with a sound medium who leads me through journey of exploring reactions, senses, vibration and more leading me to collecting and combining them to a one piece.

My wish is to deal with sound & image & movement as it combines together a new dimension of experience and creates a project reacting to real life.

This work invites questions about human impact on seemingly ‘natural’ or non-commercial spaces. It specfically focuses on the Mississippi River as it passes through Minneapolis MN, which is an area where the locks have recently been decommissioned.

Tell us about yourself. How did you come to be an artist in video/digital media? I received an MFA in Studio Art from University of South Florida and have been making video works ever since.
