Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?

“Production has almost entirely disappeared from the surface of the Western world, it has become invisible. In the city of Bangalore in India, manufacturing and sales occur at the same place. The market is not only a meeting place for sellers and buyers but also a space for creative work. Working hands and feet occupy even the smallest nooks. The video “Working in progress” documents different artisanal processes in an encyclopedic manner.”

Tell us about yourself. How did you come to be an artist in video/digital media?

“I am a visual and performance artist. Throughout my work runs a deep fascination for the relationship between space and the human body in natural and urban environments. Underscored by a critical interest in space, as sites of physical and symbolic enactment, my artistic work and research explore how different places are sustained collectively and individually throughout history. Video and photography are the media through which most of my ideas are captured and travel easier around the world.”

“Still Life” by Sophia Matyunina

Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?

“So... I think the video I posted has a strong social message during this difficult time for everyone. For each of us to think about what he publishes and absorbs on the Internet. Stop being a still life, live right now, stop adjusting to society. And if it is you who are building the society, stop it!”

Tell us about yourself. How did you come to be an artist in video/digital media?

“Hello, my name is Sofia. I am 18 years old and 7 years of them I have been doing photography and video. At the age of 11, I saw how films were made for the first time and was impressed! Since then, I have been making films on my own - performances and dream of making a big movie. My goal is to raise important social issues through art and bring the world to reason!”
