“2x, Holeg-pt.1” by Henry Hu
Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?
“An intimate study on shapes and noises. A contrasting mix of colours and sounds.”
About the artist:
“Exercising through various mediums, Henry Hu’s (born 1995 Hong Kong) emerging practice commits to an infusion. An exchange. An immediacy. A link between the interior and the exterior — of a self, a being, an identity, a consciousness. Each individual series offers an overarching narrative, steps away from the present for a spell: tasked with casting new perspectives, fresh air to breathe, a spiritual relief. Often juxtaposing the past with the future, differing forms of surrealistic fantasies unfold across his works; along with a recurring structure, the heart of all series rests in harmony.”
“cocotte” by Russell Chartier
Tell us about the artwork. What makes it unique?
“cocette explores the fabric of memory through multilayered video and audio. The work develops the metaphor of an ocean of memories where fragments of childhood, love, and loss are intermingled together weaving a complex tapestry forged from the moments that make up our lives. The piece examines the transmutation of time and cyclic nature of the human condition through a portrayal of the multilayered syntonic meaning of memory.”
About the Artist:
“Russell J. Chartier attended the College of Santa Fe. Since that time he has spent many years working in Broadcast Television working for various networks including A&E, The History Channel, YES Network and several others. His work in the Video Art Medium explores multiple layers and focuses heavily on texture and color. Many of the images in his works are distorted and manipulated in various unorthodox in an attempt to create a visual depth where recognizable images will appear within the collage of manipulated images and textures.”
