Kathline Carr’s “Ley Line” is an abstract oil painting on canvas depicting a floating landscape, primarily in blues, grays and white layers of paint offset by strong blacks. Visible brush strokes and use of painting glazes give motion and depth to the rocks and water depiction. The red line that sections off the right third of the painting surface is a reference to an eco-folklore tradition of straight sight-lines know as ley lines that suggests alignment with energies on real or imaginary maps. The canvas is stretched over lauan plywood for stability, is unframed, wired and ready to hang. The signature of the artist is on the lower right side.
