“When I was looking for a gallery to join I wanted to find one that was built on the artist coop model because that would provide the opportunity to interact with the other artists and their work. Fountain Street had a nice mix of artists and an approachable vibe. As a member of Fountain Street I have found a supportive community and a way to share my work with a wider audience. I enjoy working with the other members on the tasks required to run the gallery.
In my photographic practice, I view the image from the camera as the raw material for the final art work, the print. I’ve been using historic techniques to produce handcrafted prints, and seeing the work of the other members challenges me to think more creatively about how I want my final print to look.”
