Margarita Krylova
Margarita Krylova’s paintings reflect the depth of human consciousness and the spirit of the natural world. Her art lives in the grey area between the real and the imagined; nature is personified, folk creatures come to life, and memories are visualized. She brings out the soul in found natural objects; incorporating bark, lichens, and dried flowers into her mixed media works. For the past several years she has also been working on a series of 3D works in collaboration with her father, Viktor Krylov. He carves creatures out of wood, and she paints worlds around them using textured techniques that combine ink, rice paper, and encaustic wax. The process provides an amazing way to stay connected with one of the most important people in her life, and the resulting 3D paintings symbolize love and collaboration.
Krylova holds a BS in Biological Psychology and a BFA in Painting from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Combined Degree program. She has painted commissioned murals while on backpacking trips throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. She currently works out of Studio 510 at Western Ave Studios and teaches art at Alma Mater Studio in Lexington. Krylova has shown her work throughout the greater Boston area and is a member of the Loading Dock Gallery and Gallery Z in Lowell.
Pamella Chiasson
Pamela Chiasson’s mixed media collage has a soul purpose. Her creative process is a very personal journey that opens her up and is guided as she walks through the process and gives her art a voice of love, acceptance and a sense of purpose with healing and restoration. Her creativity was born out of trauma, and through a need she learned to express her voice in healing her heart. This body of work represents truth in her life. Chiasson’s process starts with laying her hands on the layer of the gessoed panel as a way to begin the connection to what is going to be created. She uses anywhere from 6-10 layers of paint with sanding, scratching, mark making, glazing and collage. She draws on her background in photography for a strong sense of design and composition.
Chiasson has been exhibiting mixed media collage art & photography for the past 35+ years. She is a self-taught mixed media artist. Chiasson currently is active in continuing education through the ART2Life Academy. Her work has been included in numerous regional juried shows. She works from her art studio in the historic Landing Mill building in Hudson MA.
